The Owen Group focuses on the inorganic chemistry of semiconductor and metal nanocrystals. They investigate the kinetics and mechanisms of crystal formation, as well as the structure and reactivity of colloidal crystal surfaces. Their research aims to understand the relationship between the structure and electronic properties of nanocrystals and to develop practical applications in the field of renewable energy. In particular, they focus on solution-processable semiconductor films and catalysts that enable the conversion of energy between sunlight, electricity, and chemical energy.
