On 18–19 September 2025, doctoral candidates and postdocs from CRC 1333, SimTech, and the University of Stuttgart’s Bioinformatics program took part in the course FAIR Analysis and Parametrisation of Reaction Kinetics”, led by Prof. Johann M. Rohwer, who is currently visiting from Stellenbosch University.
Over two intensive days, participants explored how reaction kinetics can be analyzed and modeled in a reproducible and transparent way, following FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Reusable) data principles. A particular focus was placed on the NMRPy software, developed by Prof. Rohwer and CRC doctoral researcherTorsten Giess, which enables the automated evaluation of kinetic analyses using NMR data. Together, participants worked step by step through the different aspects of the software and applied it to example datasets.
The course provided an excellent opportunity for interdisciplinary exchange and for gaining practical experience with open-source tools for data analysis and kinetic modeling.
