We are very happy to present as a guest in our CRC 1333 colloquium series:

 Prof. Alois Fürstner
Max-Planck-Institut für Kohlenforschung

TOPIC: „Catalytic Alkyne Chemistry: New Paradigms and New Applications“

TIME: Thursday, December 08, 2022, 2:00 – 3:00 pm
PLACE: Pfaffenwaldring 55, LH 55.02 / Online (Online Participants please register below to receive the Webex link.)

Prof. Alois Fürstner is a Director and Scientific Member at “Max-Planck-Institut für Kohlenforschung” in Mülheim an der Ruhr/Germany.
His research in the Department of Organometallic Chemistry is focused on the development of organometallic reagents and catalysts, investigations into their mode of action, as well as on applications to the synthesis of structurally complex targets of biological significance. Particular attention is paid to the development and validation of catalytic methods for C-C-bond formation. Long-term projects of current interest relate to alkene and alkyne metathesis, the development and use of pi-acid catalysts (platinum, gold etc.), metal carbene chemistry in general, as well as iron catalysis.

Research Topics:

  • Alkyne Metathesis
  • Alkene Metathesis
  • π-Acid Catalysis
  • trans-Hydrierung, gem-Hydrierung und trans-Hydrometallierung
  • Iron Catalysis
  • Novel Concepts for Catalysis
  • Total Synthesis and Evaluation of Natural Products

The CRC cordially invites all who are interested to the lecture.
